Bringing some color into winter
This time of year can be drab, cold, and purely uninspirational. To combat the drab I transformed the corner of my studio into a floral haven. The smell of fresh eucalyptus and rose.... truly the calming vibes I was hoping for.

My why and supplies
One of the reason I love styling model calls is that it forces me out of my comfort zone. I get to create a backdrop that hopedfully attracks families and fills my creative need. I recently invested in a online mentorship and I'm loving the fact that I get to challenge myself with growing creatively.
I kept my supplies simple and shopped local antique stores for old books, buttons, lace, and vintage plates. The most expensive and hard to find items were the flowers. The gals over in the Hyvee floral department were the most helpful :) They gave me a tour of their inventory in their back cooler and they also had flowers by the stem available for purchase, so I was able to create my own bouquet. I used clear tape to attach the flowers to fishing line hung from hooks I screwed into the ceiling. Getting the flowers to stay put proved to be the most challenging part. I ended up using glue dots which worked a tad better. The flowers are still hanging and now I have a beautiful collection of dried floral to use for future projects.
